On Sunday, Canada formally recognized the state of Palestine while also condemning Hamas, joining the U.K. and Australia, piling even more pressure on Israel to end the humanitarian suffering. The recognition of a two-state solution was made on the eve of what will be a high-stakes United Nations summit this week, aimed at bringing an end to the decades-long conflict.
