Poilievre slams Carney over redacting Stellantis contract, leaving parliament during QP

During question period in Ottawa on Wednesday, the official leader of the opposition, Pierre Poilievre, criticized Prime Minister Mark Carney for leaving the House of Commons in the middle of the session.

Poilievre said investment was fleeing Canada, “almost as fast as the prime minister is running out the back door of Parliament right now.” He added that Carney “gets angry and runs out the door rather than answering.”

Poilievre said the government signed a “$15 billion sweetheart subsidy deal” with Stellantis while they were “taking our tax dollars” to the United States.

He said the government should release the full details of the contract with Stellantis after the company contradicted the government on Tuesday, saying it did not request the government to redact the details.
