Trump eyes Canadian potash as next tariff target in trade war
U.S. President Donald Trump has threatened to add Canadian potash to the list of tariffed items in his trade war.
“A lot of (fertilizer) does come in from Canada, and so we’ll end up putting very severe tariffs on that, if we have to, because that’s the way you want to bolster here. And we can do it here,” Trump said.
But as Jillian Piper explains, the U.S. relies heavily on Canada for the key fertilizer ingredient.
